After seeing my post about Parque Quinta Normal, you all have probably figured out that I love parks. I seriously think that going to some of these cool parks in Santiago is a great way to make the most out of your time spent in this city. The following pictures are all taken of Parque Forestal, located at metro station Bellas Artes. Just an FYI, Parque Forestal isn’t like this every day, just Sundays. On Sundays all of Santiago, Chile, comes out to play! I would recommend arriving at the park anytime after 2pm as most Chileans go out after having lunch. When you arrive there is so much to see. There are vendors with blankets spread on the ground selling necklaces, clothing, food, and tons of other random items. You can watch jugglers practice their skill. There are often people playing drums and guitars. I’ve even seen cheerleading teams and girls doing gymnastics. Kids ride ponies and play on playground equipment. Crowds gather to watch puppet shows and mimes. If you are watching a performance of any kind you should tip your entertainer with a handful of coins.
You can also have a look around the art nicest art museum in Santiago, Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, commonly known as the MAC, for just $600 pesos ($1.20 USD) or $400 pesos ($.80 USD) if you have a student ID. The museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11am to 7pm and on Sundays from 11am to 6pm. They are currently featuring an exhibition called Arte y Recursos Naturales: Mineria (Art and Natural Resources: Mining). For more information you can visit their website: http://www.mac.uchile.cl/
Trust me, if you go to Parque Forestal on a Sunday afternoon you won’t be bored! So with no further ado, here are photos of this crazy place:

I hope you enjoyed the photos! And if you do visit Parque Forestal please remember to keep a tight hold on your belongings. In general the crowd at Parque Forestal is very family oriented but there never fails to be at least a few who try to take advantage of the multitudes of people in order to pick pocket their unsuspecting victims.
Great photos! (I just stumbled you).

Hey, parks and squares shows to much about people in a city.
In a few weeks (18-19 september) will be “Fiestas Patrias” (chilean independence day). At Parque O’Higgins is one of places where you can see how chileans celebrate the week.
