About

me

Hi!  My name is Kyle Hepp.  I first visited Chile as a teenager for a 3 month exchange student program in high school.  I fell in love with the country and came to Chile again three years ago as an exchange student, this time while in college.  My orginal plan was to stay for one semester and then go home…that didn’t happen.  To make a long story short, I met the love of my life and ended up staying three semesters total (1.5 years).  After I finished my never-ending study abroad trip, mi amor and I got engaged.  I returned to the US to finish school at the University of Tampa.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish in December of 2006, and immediately came back to Chile.  I married the Chilean love of my life, and I have been living here in Santiago ever since!

I started this blog to help travelers who are planning a trip to this amazing country!  When I first arrived, I was so overwhelmed and underinformed.  I hope the information you find in this blog makes your trip go a little smoother.  If you have any questions or comments feel free to email me at KyleHepp at gmail dot com.  I always respond :)

  1. Great blog. I have a similar story (minus the love of life part). But was 1 year in high school, 1 year in college, now as a 1 year Fulbright and multiple times in between. I agree with a lot of what you have put up here and think its a great resource. :)
